• Selective Cancer Cell Destruction: It kills a wide variety of solid-tissue tumor cells and some leukemia cells by inducing membrane-pore formation, a process that is independent of p53 activity.
• No Effect on Normal Cells: Research shows that PNC-27 does not harm normal (untransformed) cells.
• Targets Membrane-Bound HDM-2: Unlike many therapies that must enter the cell, PNC-27 works by binding to HDM-2 protein expressed specifically on the plasma membrane of cancer cells.
• Successful Preclinical Results: It has been shown to eradicate tumors in animal studies without significant off-target effects.
